Dear President, SGPC, Amritsar -
Punjab,
Waheguru jee ka Khalsa Waheguru jee kee Fateh
Once again I wish to bring to your kind notice that all the
Historians have confirmed that Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib was executed on 11
November 1675 and this fact can be seen while visiting "Sis Ganj" Gurduara Sahib
in Delhi. I don't know what is wrong with that date? Similarly, it is not clear
how Holi, Diwali, Maghi and other Sangrands have become Sikh Festivals! All
nations are progressing whereas Sikhs are going back to the past days as existed
prior to the Advent Day of Guru Nanak Sahib.
Pray for the Charhdi Kalaa of the Guru Khalsa Panth.

Subject: Re: [sher-e-panjab] Akal Takht

Baba Budha Ji and says that Gurus childer were born due to
immaculate conception - the more one digs this filth, the stronger is the
stench. Still this shameless Vedani presented this book as gift to the Panth and
wants teach Sikhism from this book in Gurdwaras. Vedani is no better that the
Committtee of Ramgharia Gurdwara. He sided with a rapist - so-called Baba
Dhanwant Singh and even rebuked the helpless victim as Vedanti's brother-in-law
took a bribe of Rs 50000- from the Baba. This shameless vedanti also accepted
gifts from rapist Amar Singh Nanaksaria, who himself was used for sex
gratification by Ishar Singh and his associates at Nanaksar Kaleran. This evil
Vedani has no shame going to the Ashram of Yogi Bhajan, who too has been accused
of raping white girls. You have no shame calling him Akal Takhat Jathedar. For a
Sikh of Guru Granth Sahib, Gurbani is Jathedar. For criminals, Ujjads, Dhutas
and Burshas Vedanti is a Jathedar. For a Gursikh he is far worse than Massa
Ranghar. Before you utter any nonsense about meat eating, read Guru Nanak's
composition "Maas Maas Kar Murakh Jhagre." Don't polute the air with
misinformationm about Sikhism.

In the article by Dilgeer ji on Sahibzadas the marriage of Ajit Singh and the birth of Hathi Singh as son of Ajit Singh mentioned in the Bhat Vahis does not refer to Sahibzada Ajit Singh who died fighting Mughals in Chamkaur. It refers to an adopted son Ajit Singh who was adopted by Mata Sundari in Dehli and who later abandoned Sikhism by cutting his hair and presenting the cut hair to Farukhsiyar.

Dear Sikh
Parents,
Sikh Council on
Religion and Education (SCORE) presents letters about Guru Nanak's gurpurab
which each Sikh child can take it to his/her school on Friday, November 7,
2003 and request the teacher to share this information with other students
in class. This will definitely create a sense of pride in Sikh children and they
will feel more connected to Guru Nanak. This also helps in creating more
understanding about our faith and our tradition (The letters are given
below).
Please make copies of the following letters according to your
child's grade level. These are prepared in light of the church state issues in
America. Sikhs in other countries can alter these according to their
needs.
We also request all Sikh families to take a day off on
Saturday, November 8, 2003 to celebrate the 534th birth-anniversary of our
beloved Guru Nanak Dev ji. WE appeal that you spend this day with your
children and make them feel special. You may also visit gurdwara and share
stories of his life with them.
This is the day when we should let the
world know who Guru Nanak is. We will be creating more awareness about our faith
and our Beloved Guru when we share this with our co-workers and when our
children will tell their fellow students about this important day.
We
sincerely hope that you will help spread the word about Guru Nanak Dev ji. Give
our children more reasons to feel proud of being Sikhs!
Sincerely,
Dr. Rajwant Singh
National Chairman, Sikh
Council on Religion and Education

Letters are given below:
FOR PRESCHOOL, KINDERGARTEN, FIRST AND SECOND GRADES
November 8th is the birthday of Guru Nanak. (Guru means a
religious teacher or messenger). Guru Nanak was born in 1469. That was 534 years
ago. Guru Nanak started the Sikh religion in India. He taught that all people
are equal, no matter what their color or their religion, or what country they
come from. He taught that boys are not better than girls nor are girls better
than boys. He said that everyone should work hard, be truthful and treat
everyone else fairly. To celebrate Guru Nanak's birthday, Sikh boys and girls do
not go to school. They go with their families to the gurdwara (the Sikh place of
worship) to sing hymns written by Guru Nanak, and to read the Sikh Holy Book.
They eat sweet things like cookies and candies to remember Guru Nanak's good
life and sweet words.
THIRD THROUGH EIGHTH GRADES
November 8, 2003 is the birthday of Guru Nanak (Guru means
religious teacher or messenger.) Guru Nanak was born 534 years ago in India. He
founded the Sikh religion, so November 8th is a Sikh holiday.
Guru Nanak taught his followers to love God and to respect
all human beings as their equals. In India, as in many places in the world at
that time, women were not allowed to do what men were, such as go to school,
worship in public, or choose what they wanted to be. Guru Nanak said that this
was wrong. As well as teaching his followers to respect women and all humankind,
he taught that all should respect the religion of others as they would want
their own to be respected. He also taught his followers to be honest and to work
hard.
Guru Nanak wrote his teachings in poems. They are now part
of the Sikh Holy Book which is all written in rhymes. When Sikhs go to their
place of worship on Guru Nanak's birthday, they sing many of his poems as
hymns.
Perhaps you have friends who are Sikh. They would like you
to know, on November 8, they are celebrating the birthday of Guru Nanak, their
first Guru.
NINTH THROUGH TWELFTH GRADES
November 8, 2003 is the 534th anniversary of the birth
of Guru Nanak who founded the Sikh religion (Guru means 'religious teacher or
messenger'). He was born in India in 1469. Guru Nanak was ahead of his times in
preaching equality of all people. The society in which he lived divided people
into high and low castes. He challenged the caste system by saying all people
are equal; none are high or low. In India at that time, women were considered
inferior beings and not allowed to be educated or even to worship publicly. Guru
Nanak taught that women were equal to men, and that they and their abilities
should be respected. In the India of Guru Nanak's time, the followers of
different religions often battled each other. Guru Nanak taught his followers
that they should respect other religions as they want theirs to be
respected.
Guru Nanak wrote his teachings in poetic compositions. He
wrote nearly 1000 of these compositions which are now part of the Sikh Holy
Book, which is all written in rhymes. Short sections of these compositions are
sung as hymns at Sikh religious services.
Perhaps some of your friends are Sikhs. They are
celebrating this important Sikh holiday with their family and

A RAY OF …….HOPE???!!!
Date: Katak 18, 535 NS (Nanakshahi)
In the aftermath of the very successful Sikh Convention in
Mohali, it has been very interesting to see the reaction of the BIPAR
Lobby. Their sense of frustration about the success of the convention has
been nothing but comical. In any war of ideas, the number of attendees is never
of any importance. However, in this particular war of wits, BIPAR Lobby (being
devoid of any Intelligent ideas) has been fixated upon nothing but numbers. The
most comical of all the BIPAR reactions was the mathematical trick of the
BIPAR-IN-TRAINING regarding the number of attendees. This
was the BIPAR trick, with which he tried to reduce the number of reported
convention attendees figure of more than 4000, to a mere 400+.
No matter on which side of the issue one is, it is hard, not to
appreciate the skills of DECEIT this particular BIPAR-IN-TRAINING has
acquired. ….I will say, Bipar-in-Training; a good learning job.
The BIPAR surprise and frustration towards the resounding
Convention Success is very understandable. Why shouldn’t the BIPARS be
frustrated? They have been trying for centuries to convert every Sikh into a
BIPAR IMPOTENT. …..And, now to their surprise they find that they haven’t
completely succeeded. For the BIPAR misfortune, there are GurSikhs still left
out there who haven’t lost their POTENCY.
With the successful installation of the BIPAR Acharyas in every
Sikh Takhat, Sadh Deras, Taksals, Jathas, and Thaths, the BIPARs thought that
they have succeeded in gripping the Sikh mind completely. ……..With the
installation of Trash like the Bachittar-Natak-Granth (BNT) as a
SHREEK of Sri Guru Granth Sahib, the Bipars thought that they have
successfully taken care of the Sikh Guru. …….By popularizing the trash like "Gur
Bilas Patshahi 6" the Bipars thought that they have succeeded into making a fool
of every Sikh. ……And, by successfully getting the whistle blower S.
Gurbakhash Singh KalaAfghana (enemy number 1 of the Bipars) ex-communicated
through their Acharyas, the BIPARS thought that the biggest thorn from the BIPAR
side has been removed.
However, the number of GurSikhs who, showed up at the
convention despite all the BIPAR threats of BIPARNAMAS, ex-communications,
snatching away of Titles, and threats of mass scale Gundaa-gardee,
surprised them.
Although the success of the convention spells Doom for the
Bipars, it spells a big ray of HOPE for the Sikhs.. …It proves that despite all
the BIPAR successes (of installation of their Acharyas in Sikh Takhats, defiling
of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib, installation of SHREEKS of Guru Granth Sahib Jee,
demeaning of Sikh Guru Sahiban through literatures like "Gur Bilas Patshahi 6"
& the BNG etc.) the BIPARS haven’t succeeded in converting every Sikh into a
BIPAR IMPOTENT.
And that is where lies for the Sikhs ……a Ray of
HOPE.

Granthi ……The All Mighty???!!!
Date: Katak 16, 535 NS (Nanakshahi)
To settle an important issue in any Gurdwara Sahib;
Should the Gurdwara Sahib Granthi be, …..an All
Mighty???!!! ……Or ….Should the final authority rest with the Gurdwara Sahib
Executive?
That is the central issue, which is at the core of the Power
to Ex-Communication debate that has resulted in Sikh Conferences at
Roseville, Ca, and at Mohali, Punjab..
To understand the Core issue, just ponder over the
following scenario.
A corrupt GRANTHI Vs. a knowledgeable SINGH:
In your Gurdwara Sahib, the Gurdwara Granthi does not
like a particular Singh, because that Singh is knowledgeable and daring
enough to point out the Granthi’s mistakes. And furthermore it so happens that,
the Singh catches the Granthi red handed in the commission of a very
serious crime, and chooses to expose the crime.
Next, in reaction to such Singh actions, the Granthi cooks up a
baseless, unsubstantiated, and flimsy story against the Singh to cover
up his tracks. Then, the Granthi surrounds himself with his "Sat
Bachan" brand Chelas, increases the volume of the Gurdwara propaganda
machine (under his control) and drowns the Singh’s voice in this noise.
Next, without going through the process of requesting a
meeting of the Gurdwara Sahib Executive, and presenting his side
of the case to the executive for an inquiry, a hearing, a
deliberation, a decision, and an action plan, the Granthi
issues a directive of his own, ordering the throwing out of the Singh out
of the Gurdwara Sahib telling that the Singh should not be allowed to show his
face in the Gurdwara again. …Also, the Granthi does not stop just there. He also
threatens to throw all those out of the Gurdwara Sahib who, dare to show any
sympathy with the Singh’s cause.
Under such a scenario, on which side of the issue will you
be? ….Will you be daring enough to ask for a fair play based upon
natural laws of justice for the Singh? ….Or, will you say "Sat Bachan" to
the actions of the Granthi, because of the fear of his threats?
Will you be daring enough to question the authority of
the Granthi for his nefarious designs? ….Or will you say "Sat Bachan"
advocating that the Granthi is the All Mighty of the Gurdwara Sahib?, therefore
none of his actions should be challenged.
Will you be on the side of the Granthi’s priestly
threats when he invokes the name of some Guru Sahiban to bolster his
authority? …..Or, will you be able to challenge the origin of such an
authority? The authority, which the Granthi happens not to have in the first
place.
In case you happen to choose the Granthi’s side, then, will you
be able to visualize a situation, where a couple of days later, you could find
yourself to be in the shoes of that Singh? …..Would you like to see the same
corrupt Granthi sitting in judgment while he decides your fate? …….Would you
like the Granthi to have the authority to threaten all those with expulsion,
who, happen to plead your case or show sympathy with your cause?
Jathedar Joginder Singh JeeVedanti Vs. S. Gurbakhash Singh
KalaAfghana:
Now, apply the same logic to the S. Gurbakhash Singh
KalaAfghana’s ex-communication, and you will understand what the total fuss is
about. ….This will provide you an insight about the background of the
fuss, the deceit of the Sikh Clergy’s decision making, its
Kangaroo Court operation in the name of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib, the
quality of the judges, their conflict of interests, their
decision, the global protests and the conferences at Roseville, Ca, and
Mohali, Punjab.
To apply the scenario to the issue, just replace your Gurdwara
Sahib with "Sri Akal Takhat Sahib," the Gurdwara Sahib Granthi with Jathedar
Joginder Singh Jee Vedanti, and the Gurdwara Executive with the executive body
of the "Sarbat Khalsa."
THE DISPUTE BACKGROUND: …..This is a case where, Joginder
Singh Jee Vedanti, the Head Granthi of Golden Gurdwara Sahib, happened to
write a book titled "Gur Bilas Patshahi 6." In this book he presented a
large volume of blasphemous material, demeaning pretty much all the
Gurus, and important personalities of the Sikh History.
S. Gurbakhash Singh KalaAfghana, the Canada based Sikh
scholar happened to catch and expose the "Gur Bilas Patshahi 6"
blasphemies. For example, in these blasphemies; Guru Nanak Sahib is shown to
be getting reborn (wearing a white beard, old wrinkled skin and a yellow robe)
twice as children of Guru Hargobind Sahib. Guru Arjan Patshah is shown as
harboring thieves. Mata Ganga Jee is shown getting pregnant at Baba Budha Jee’s
place. Guru Hargobind Sahib is shown getting born as a four armed baby.
Golden Gurdwara Sahib is shown getting built as a Vishnu Mandir
(hence the names Harmandir Or Golden Temple). Guru Hargobind Sahib
is shown as an abductor of a young girl named Kaulan. The Ninth Guru, Guru Teg
Bahadar Sahib is shown to be committing suicide…and the list of blasphemies goes
on.
In reaction to the above exposure of his blasphemous book,
Joginder Singh Jee Vedanti started the smear campaign against S.
KalaAfghana. By now Joginder Singh Jee had moved from being the Head Granthi of
Golden Gurdwara Sahib to become the Care Taker (Jathedar) of Sri Akal Takhat
Sahib. He being in a position where he could fool the Sikh masses by invoking
the name of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib (the Highest Seat of Sikhs), he started his
maneuvers of defaming S. KalaAfghana.
Jathedar Joginder Singh Jee Vedanti went through a series of
moves like; asking S. KalaAfghana to appear at Sri Akal Takhat Sahib, …..then,
on S. KalaAfghana’s request expressing his inability to come to Amritsar on
grounds of ill health and legal complications, Vedanti Jee agreed to hold a
Video Conference with S. KalaAfghana. Then, Vedanti Jee backed out
of the Conference at the last moment. …..Next, knowing fully well about S.
KalaAfghana’s helplessness, Vedanti Jee directed him to come to Amritsar. A
directive that S. KalaAfghana couldn’t comply. …….Next exploiting S.
KalaAfghana’s no show, Vedanti Jee advertised it as an act of defiance of Sri
Akal Takhat Sahib. In the process, first he banned his book, and then sat in a
Kangaroo court kind of setting and ex-communicated him. …..This is
how he ended up blackening the very pure and bright face of Sri Akal
Takhat Sahib, dark black.
The above mentioned, very naked and blatant misuse of power by
a "Pack of Granthis" in the name of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib, gave a
"wake up call" to a large number of Sikh Intelligentsia around the globe.
This is the waking up, which has resulted in an earlier conferences at
Roseville, Ca, and now at Mohali, Punjab.
The above-mentioned unexpected waking up of the Sikh
intelligentsia has created a panic situation in Amritsar. ….The situation, to
which the Granthis and their Chamchas have reacted with threats of Fatwas,
Ex-communications, Snatching away of Titles, and mass scale Gundaa-gardee.
…..This is what is called damage control BIPAR style.
No matter how much Badmaashee and Gundaa-gardee, the Chamchas
of the Granthis threaten the Sikh Intelligentsia with, the central issues
raised by this blatant insult to Sri Akal Takhat Sahib is not going to go
away.
The central issue of contention at these conferences is the
power of the Clergy. ….The question is; ……For Sikh issues of global
proportion, whom does the Power belong to? …..the "Sarbat Khalsa," the
body of democratically elected representatives of the entire Khalsa Panth .. Or…
a "Pack of appointed Granthis?"
The Vishav Sikh Samelan at Mohali has concluded that such a
power belongs to none other than the "Sarbat Khalsa." …..The only role
that the caretaker Granthi of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib has in this process is to
declare to the Sikh Sangat what the "Sarbat Khalsa" decides and directs the
caretaker to convey.
Supreme is the "Guru Panth", and not a "Pack of Granthis," no
matter how big the pack of Granthis is!
Now, as individual Sikhs, it is unto each of us to decide as to
which side of the issue we want to be on. …..On the side of the democratically
elected "Guru Panth, the Sarbat Khalsa" …Or, a "Pack of Granthis"
who can be bought and sold with the allurement of a mere reflection of a gold
leaf.
Decision is ours to make. …..
Do we want the Granthis to become …..the All
Mighty???!!!

Since Bhai Gurbakhsh Singh Kala Afghana's all the books have

articles in "Gurmat Parkash", it is evident that all the authors/contributors of
the various articles/views have not abided by the Jathedar's Banned Order as
otherwise they could not have made any reference to the banned books. Like a
banned film people are not supposed to view such a picture but most of your well
wishers continue to read/possess! Now what action is being taken against
them?

Despite the difficulties caused by Akalidal Badal, some members of SGPC, Manjit Singh Calcutta, Joginder Singh Vedanti, Gurcharanjit Singh Lamba & others, the World Sikh Convention becomes a successful event at Mohali, various newspapers reported between 8000 to10000 Sikhs participated in the event.
I am enclosing the resolutions passed at the convention in PDF format.

Hukamnamahs’ & Hukamnamahs of To-day
Hukamnamah for a Sikh & Devotee- Gurbani itself, in its
unique form of ‘Sahib Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji’ is a Hukamnamah, Verdict, Ruling
or Decree for a Sikh and nothing beyond.
Hukamnamahs in the Sikh History- During the period of Guru
Personalities, so many times Guru Ji had to sent some massages to Sikhs, persons
or Guru Ki Sangat of some particular area/sector, but Guru Ji never added them,
as to a part of Gurbani, Nor they declared or wrote them with the word of
‘Hukamnamah’. At those times those were simply instructions, suggestion, letters
or massages etc for the particular sector, Sikhs or person/persons concerned.
But as a mark of respect, it was Guru Ki Sangat which called them the
‘Hukamnamahs’ as because these were from the Guru Himself.
Such ‘Hukamnamahs’ were the matter of proud for the Sikhs &
devotees and never had been a drastic or harsh item for the Sikhs. Sikhs ever
awaited for such hukamnamahs.
During 1968 Dr, Ganda Singh & Bhai Shamsher Singh Ashok
published two volumes on such ‘Hukamnamhs’. These volumes contained Two such
Hukamnamahs from the 6th Master, One from the eighth Master, 22 from
Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, 34 from Guru Gobind Singh Ji along with 2 from Banda Singh
Ji Bahadur & 2 from thrones.
Though the genuine-ness of these hukamnamahs even, has also
been challenged by the Sikh Scholar Harinder Singh Mehboob. Even then none of
these Hukamnamahs have ever been dealt with the issue of ex-communication.
Gurbani is a way of life for all the humanity alike and not the property of a
few particular persons, some society, body or jathedars etc to excommunicate
others. Such heinous system is not available within the Sikh History and not a
part of Sikhism.
‘Hukamnamahs’ of today- So called ‘Hukamnamahs’ of today,
have just started by the touts and slave clergies, simply some time back.
Absolutely on the first time in the history of Sikhs, on 18th march 1887- Prof.
Gurmukh Singh Ji was declared ex-communicated, but it was never obeyed by Sikh
Community. Bhai Khem Singh Bedi the then caretaker of Akal Bunga was used as an
instrument by the British & the politicians. This way the Hukamnamahs which
ever had been the item of pride within the Sikh community, turned into the item
of horror & misuse. But this system can never be prolonged or tolerated.
Clergy system has no significance within Sikhism.
JATHEDAR OF AKAL BUNGA (TAKHAT)???- Akal Bunga (Takhat) had
ever been provided a Caretaker in its history and its caretaker had never
provided any powers ever. Very very first time, during the Gurdwaras Sudhar
Movement in the year 1920, on the day of 12th oct a caretaking Jatha
of 25 persons was appointed in the Jathedarship of TeJa Singh Bhuchar for the
purpose. But Bhuchar was never the Jathedar of Akal Bunga (Takhat) but of the
said Jatha. The words, ‘Jathedar’ or ‘Singh Sahib’ for the Akal Takhat’s Granthi
have been started at very later stage. Otherwise only the Guru Panth itself has
powers through unanimous ‘ Gurmatas’ for the panth as a whole, but even then the
excommunication is not permitted over there within Sikhism.
Hence The Hukamnamahs of Today- The Hukamnamahs of Today, to
ex-communicate the Sikh personalities, especially the Sikh Scholars & Sikh
intelligential is simply the order of the day and can never be tolerated
because:-
Firstly- Never there is any such post of ‘Jathedar’ or ‘Singh
Sahib’ for the Granthi of Akal Bunga (Takhat Sahib). Only there can be a
caretaker with no such Panthik Powers. Panthik powers are always of the Panth,
with the Panth and will remain with the Panth on the whole- but always within
the instructions and doctrines provided from‘Guru Granth Sahib Ji’ not
beyond.
Secondly- Ex-communication is never a part of Sikhism.
Thirdly- Ex- communication in neither permitted by ‘Guru Granth
Sahib Ji’ nor by ‘Sikh Rehat Marayada’ or ‘Gurdwara Act’
Then who has empowered these slave Granthiees to excommunicate
the Scholars and respectable personalities of the community. No doubt the so
called ‘Jathedars’ or ‘Singh Sahibans’ are not independent and these are the
slaves of SGPC and above all slaves of politicians. Moreover these Granthies are
not even Sikhs of ‘Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji’ but they are the Sikhs of Some
‘Dehra daar-Sant Ji or Bhai Sahib’.
The Guru Panth has to take its powers in its own hands.

to answer these questions.
1. Please explain your religious beliefs.
2. What are the unique aspects of your religion?
(What are so special about your religion?)
3. How do people in your religious group feel about the other groups (other

Dear Editor Chamkaur Singh jee & other Gursikhs,

Before coming to Australia, my wife and I were blessed with
"Guru daa Amrit" on First Oct. 1981 and since then we have been following the
"Sikh Reht Maryada (SGPC)". As per Chit No. 106, I have received & read the
Gurmat Parkash, Oct. 2003 - described as "Kala Afghana Special Issue"! Apart
from certain misrepresentations, first of all I seek your advice: at what
page/heading of the Sikh Reht Maryada - SGPC, could I read/locate the often used
terminology "Khandey daa Amrit, Khandey dee Pahul, Khandey Battey daa Amrit"!

GURMAT PARKASH- Oct 2003
The Worst Ever in the History of Gurmat
Parkash
No body could even expect or imagine that a most respected
Panthak Magazine can sometime fall into the depth of partiality, discrimination,
flattering and forced criticism-but the issue of Oct.2003 proves it so, while
criticizing the prominent Scholar Kala Afgana Ji.
To show aggression in such a way upon some renowned scholar of
international fame is itself a heinous, monstrous & terrible crime but alas!
it is apparent & done by a respected Panthik Magazine in its issue of Oct
2003. Then how can a magazine of respect can uphold its status & respect
within the community concerned. At least the writings of Dr, Sukhpreet Singh
Udoke, Sewak Singh, Karamjit Singh, Harpal Singh, Kirpal Singh, Baljit Singh
Khalsa, Tardeep Singh, Kashmir Singh, AmarJeet Singh, Dr, Amarjeet Kaur,
InderJeet Singh Gogoani etc are perceptibly the persons who are created,
prepared and entered simply to criticize, with the mollified intention. God
knows how can a panthak scholor of today and tomorrow like Kala Afgana can be
defamed by such heinous ways where as the records of the magazine will always
quote its today’s standard. Above all even these writes, could not hide their
mal-intentions in their butcher condemnable writings. Even the respected writers
like Roop Singh & Dalgeer have gone astray from their own status &
inclined their writings at the indication and signal of their masters, but left
fear of the ‘Great Guru’ aside. Writing of Balkar Singh which equates the word
"Harimandir" used in Gurbani multy times intermixed with Harimandir Sahib at
Amritsar is not new as per his writing status & hence taken out from one of
his existing writings.
Not only, but the history specified about the process, that how
the so called ‘hukamnamah’ was issued against Kala Afgana could not stay alive
from the partiality and discrimination, while making it public in the magazine.
It itself, apparently clarifies that how an advocate attempts to justify the
case from the side of murderer or culprit and here the so called ‘Jathedar’ and
the SGPC stands for.
On the whole the writings of S. Ram Singh Kular and Balwinder
pal Singh, though made the unwanted approach to justify the said ‘hukamnamh’ but
even then could not be rejected as these people basically almost justified the
scholar from their inner sense.
May God provide wisdom & intelligence to the management of
our Panthak Magazine ‘Gurmat Parkash’ to maintain its status & at the same
time intelligence to the partial writers.

Respected Sardar Makhan Singh Purewal ji,
Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa,
Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh.
First of all I must pay great regards and respects to you for
displaying my views on merit and obliging me without any greed and favour or
support on my part financially or otherwise. In fact, I am not in position to
provide such an assistance still you are really doing all in the larger interest
of Sikh Nation/ Community i.e humanity.
I wish that you must get support from Sikhs in all respects to
continue in this service of enlightening the Sikh masses. Definitely, somebody
shall be doing some efforts with you to promote this noble cause, if not so,
then it is very sad on the part of the community.
To my mind, my views about ‘JHATKA OR HALAL’ are very
strong and meaningful but might be difficult to digest for some of the Readers.
You rightly understood and thinking so displayed it on your Web. But afterwards,
somebody must have objected it without applying his mind and made you to remove
it from your Web as I noticed today. I am nothing to mind about its removal from
the web. I fully understand my limitations.
If you don’t mind, please do send through email those Comments
or criticism so that I should search if there is any possibility to amend myself
on that line. Please do oblige. For reference, I again enclose my views on the
subject as under:-

RE: WORLD SIKH CONVENTION
The forthcoming convention is going to be an historic event in
the lives of all the Sikhs around the globe. I am sure, proceedings of the
convention will be recorded on a DVD or video tape. I would like to buy such a
DVD or video tape. Would you have any information as to where it can be had
from? Other surfers of sikhmarg.com will also be interested in obtaining a DVD

Jhatka or Halal
My views on the Subject
If possible, avoid eating meat as it mostly found infectious
and normally affects our health adversely otherwise I do not find any difference
between Jhatka and Halal keeping in view its availability and modern
scientific methods of slaughtering the animals etc for the purpose.
Sikh Maryada-Sikh way of life is also has political meaning in
the given situation, circumstances and time. It is subject to change, alteration
according to the prevailing political situation, circumstances and time in World
and Country where you live. When Halal was forbidden for the Sikhs, it was a
political peaceful message for non-cooperation to the cruel RULER who was
tyranny, aggressive like the present ruling class in India.
In the changed circumstances, it should not be a weapon of
hatred against that particular Community (Muslim) in the name of religion. Such
a mentality is required to be checked/stopped immediately so long it does not
violate our only sacred Granth, ‘ Sri Guru Granth Sahib’.
To my mind, it does not do so, subject to the views of
impartial intellectuals. However, these views should not be taken as suggestion
for a total change or alteration in Sikh Maryada to effect any change in our
Sikh independent identity in any manner.

Press Release: Carol Lay Apologizes to the Sikh Community for
Inappropriate Cartoon
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
September 25, 2003
The UNITED SIKHS campaign has been successful in persuading
Carol Lay to apologize for her inappropriate cartoons depicting Sikhs. In
realizing her mistake, Ms. Lay has taken down the two cartoons, “Foto Funnies”
and “Field Guide to Turbans” from her website. UNITED SIKHS thanks the community
and all other Sikh activist groups, websites, and email groups who helped
support and endorse the petition and its subsequent action.
In her
apology, Ms. Lay mentioned that some people have sent her “obscene and vicious
hate mail…threatening [her] safety and livelihood.” UNITED SIKHS condemns such
action as it believes in finding peaceful ways to resolving issues. Hate mail
and threats are not only anti-Sikh behavior, but it continues the cycle of
misunderstanding and miscommunication. We therefore request and expect all Sikhs
to be considerate and respectful in all forms of communication.
Ms. Carol Lay’s apology can be viewed at http://www.unitedsikhs.org/petitions/rights/apology.htm

'Sharing Your Faith with Your Neighbors' - A
special event to celebrate Guru Nanak Dev ji's Gurpurab on November 2,
2003.
September 22,
2003
Dear Gurdwara/community Representative,
With utmost respect we appeal to you and to the entire management of all Gurdwaras to
organize a special program in your Gurdwara, 'Sharing Your Faith with Your
Neighbors' directed towards our neighbors, religious and civic leaders,
teachers, and elected officials in our communities. The objective of
this event will be to provide understanding among non-Sikhs about the Sikh
religion and its traditions. We are suggesting that on November 2nd,
2003, simultaneously, at more than 100 Gurdwaras all over the USA and
other parts of the world, we create an opportunity for our neighbors to know
more about us. This program is to coincide with Guru Nanak Dev ji's Gurpurab, being celebrated on
November 8th this year. This program will give non-Sikhs the opportunity
to meet us, and observe our religious services and partake in Langar.
In recommending this grassroots event we have drawn upon the
experience of other faith communities that have a long tradition of inviting
their neighbors to observe their services and participate in meals to create
awareness about themselves. Although we have resided and worked in America and
other countries for more than 100 years, the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks
revealed that most people are ignorant of our beliefs and identity. Because of
our distinctive identity we are erroneously associated with terrorists, making
us a vulnerable minority. Even our children have not been left untouched by this
wave of prejudice. Our children are being victimized by being taunted and
bullied by their peers in schools. This has caused tremendous emotional and
psychological stress to our children and us. Therefore through this program we
hope to create more understanding and awareness about our faith and
ourselves.
Having this program the week before the Gurpurab
of Guru Nanak Dev Ji will make it a nationwide public event and go a long way in
creating more understanding and awareness about the Sikhs. By holding
this program worldwide we will portray a sense of unity and purpose within our
community and share our blessings with others. Would this not be a
wonderful way to celebrate our Beloved Guru's birthday? We sincerely
pray that every Gurdwara makes an effort to become an important part of this
historic event. We are also joined by prominent Sikh organizations in support of
this type of event. Per our suggestion this special 1.5 hour-long
program can be organized towards the end of the Divan from 12:30PM to 2PM.
It would include introductions, audiovisual on Sikhism, speeches, Keertan,
comments by guests, and a conclusion.
We are working with other national organizations to cosponsor
this event and to help get the word out. In addition national and local media is
being contacted. For local contacts each Gurdwara is encouraged to appoint their
own spokesperson and two youth coordinators. We will provide all the information
needed to make it a successful event. In addition, we will be available on the
phone to help with anything else. Please send us your specific contact
information ASAP so that we can send you all the materials that we have prepared
for everyone's convenience.
